Primavera (Italian "Spring") is part of a series of paintings on the four seasons by Giuseppe Arcimboldo, circa 1563. Employed at the court of Rudolf II, Holy Roman Emperor, Arcimboldo designed fantastical costumes and sets for the emperor's tournaments, in addition to his duties as court painter.

Over eighty species of plants have been identified in this portrait, including dog rose, columbine, strawberries, spinach leaves, jasmine, and nettles.
